Yelle Curriculum Night Tuesday 9/17 at 6PM for 4th Grade & 6:45PM for 5th

Posted Date: 9/15/24 (2:00 PM)

Hello Yelle Families:

I hope the start of school has been good for you. For us here in #HAYNation, everything has been sensational. The kids have been phenomenal and our faculty and staff never cease to amaze me. Thank you!

I am writing to remind you that we are doing a Yelle Elementary Curriculum Night this Tuesday, September 17th. We invite all parents/guardians for an evening event, our Elementary Curriculum Night, where teachers will share the academic plan for the year.

4th Grade will be from 6 to 6:30PM

5th Grade from 6:45 to 7:15PM

Mr. Geoghegan will start the evening in the Gym at 6PM for 4th Grade and then again at 6:45PM, for 5th Grade, explaining our Title I support programming. I have a few slides to share and review. You are welcome to come to the gym for these first few minutes of the night.

We then ask that guardians head to their child's Homeroom Teacher's classroom to be filled in on the particulars of 4th or 5th Grade.

In the past few years, many things have changed academically for our students and what we expect of them. We felt as though a night dedicated to academics was necessary, especially with our new Math program, Stepping Stones, which we began utilizing last year, and our new this year, ELA programming, Into Reading. Both of these programs have been excellent additions to our elementary curriculum and will help to make our instruction and teaching consistent throughout the district.

This is a night where you can hear what you can expect your child to relay to you about what they are doing during the school day, during classes, and what may be expected at home.

These half-hour sessions are staggered to allow folks with siblings the ability to visit the different grades if you have children in both grades 4 and 5.

Champions will be offering child care in the cafeteria for anyone who may need it.

We look forward to seeing you this Tuesday, if you can make it!

Please feel free to email me with any questions.

Thanks; have a great night,
Marty
